| I stepped into the cold then back into the heat Locked the doors of my ready truck Leveled my coffee glanced at the ocean and raced down a dark cold street I arrived at work arrived under the day Listening to the morning radio show I pictured people I might see pondered things I might say I jumped from my truck and checked for unlocked doors I made eye contact with people I've made eye contact with before I waved and walked away it was cold it was monday Twelve hours I stepped into the cold then back into the heat Locked the doors of my ready truck Leveled my thoughts stopped at the store then raced down a dark cold street I arrived at home close to another day Listening to the radio show finished a few beers while watching my insane sparsely clothed polar bear neighbors fly fishing knee deep in the bay I jumped from my truck and checked for unlocked doors Walked to my home and into the place i stay Grabbed a beer muted the tv started the cd mix set my alarm and waited for tuesday |
